Holidaymakers travelling to Iceland can get more for their money due to the weakening krona, according to the country's tourist board.
The weakening krona has helped to attract travellers keen to get as much value for their money as possible, it has been suggested.
According to the Icelandic Tourist Board, it is likely this will help to perpetuate this year's trend of travelling outside of the increasingly expensive eurozone in 2010.
"Tourists are spending almost double the amount in Icelandic krona than they did in previous years, because they know they are getting better value for money," said Sigga Groa Thorarinsdottir, marketing manager for the UK and Ireland at the organisation.
She noted that there many free attractions in the capital, Reykjavik, and highlighted the "sleeping bag accommodation" offered by farms around the country for those on a tight budget.
Those looking to save money on an Iceland holiday may also want to take out cheap
travel insurance in case they lose their luggage or need expensive medical treatment.
Earlier this year, Lonely Planet named Iceland as one of its top ten value destinations, TravelMole reported.
