Iceland offers great holiday deals according to one travel expert.
Iceland’s recent economic problems make it a value-for-money holiday destination, it has been claimed.
After buying their
travel insurance, holidaymakers will find a wide range of deals available in the country, where the pound is now a great deal stronger than it has been in recent years, according to online comparison service travelsupermarket.com.
Travel expert at the group Bob Atkinson commented: "Iceland is a steal at the moment. When we go there, we are getting more currency ... to our pound and it makes it more affordable than it was."
He went on to recommend that travellers do plenty of research on the country before they head off and look out for value restaurants and services such as those where local people eat out once they arrive.
Research carried out by Tesco Travel Money earlier this week found that 34 per cent of Britons intend to spend less on their holidays this year, with many choosing to go to Eastern European countries such as Hungary, Poland and Bulgaria in search of the best bargains.
