Ibiza is not just a party island with buzzing nightlife and could appeal to a wide range of travellers, according to an expert.
The island of Ibiza may conjure up images of wild nightlife and partying teenagers, but one expert has stated that the destination has much more to offer.
Kate McWilliams, accounts manager at the Ibiza Tourist Board, explained that travellers on the hunt for a sunny holiday with plenty to keep them entertained may find Ibiza is just what they were looking for.
Cycling, kayaking, water sports and hiking excursions are available all over the country and Ms McWilliams is keen to point out that "traditional Ibiza" can be found just a few minutes' walk away from the so-called clubbing hotspots.
Indeed, the Telegraph recently reported that it could be ideal for diving activities, in particular its "crystal clear seas" and Mediterranean waters contribute to its credentials.
She added: "The image of Ibiza is changing and whereas there are a lot of people that go out there [who] might have one big night out, the rest of their trip … they can discover the coves of Ibiza or take a ferry ride around the island."
Rural hotels are springing up and often remain open all-year round, unlike the tourist destinations where the accommodation may be closed during the autumn and winter.
However, anyone who does not want to spend their time chasing waves or participating in sport could be headed for a relaxing break instead.
Ms McWilliam remarked that many resorts in Ibiza offer health and wellbeing therapies - yoga, pilates, detoxing and indulgent spa retreats are also available for people who want to get away from it all.
No matter what type of holiday is on the cards, tourists should always invest in a sufficient travel insurance policy to cover them should the worst happen while they are abroad.
