"Huge range" of different accommodation on offer for travellers

Travel insurance customers looking for something a little different when they travel for work have a "huge range" of accommodation to choose from, an industry expert has explained.

Jessica Reading, head of marketing at LateRooms, noted that as well as offering a wide array of hotels in Turin, Milan, London, Lisbon, Madrid and other cities around the world, the company has a variety of other types of lodgings.

She remarked: "Try something different from your traditional hotel, maybe look at apartments or at the smaller independent properties. They can offer something different from your traditional hotel."

Research published by LateRooms earlier this month showed that 47 per cent of people believe that being away from home on business strengthens their relationship with their partner.

According to new research, more than 236,000 incidents occurred to British travellers in 2008 that could have been claimed for had they taken out travel insurance.
