There are a number of ways in which Britons can cut the cost of their skiing holiday, according to one site.
Those looking to go on a skiing holiday at as low a cost as possible can do so in several ways, according to tour operator Directski.com.
The website advises those seeking to ski on the cheap to book their holiday as early as possible and break up payment into manageable instalments.
It may be cheaper to travel to the ski resort by train than by air, as holidaymakers may be able to save on excess baggage costs, it says.
Avoiding the most well-known skiing destinations in favour of more up and coming ones - like Slovenia - could also be a money-saving option.
"Choose a less well-known resort that rubs shoulders with the glitzy, big ski areas. Think Kirchberg not Kitzbuhel, Meribel Valley rather than Meribel town," Directski.com states.
Looking around for cheap
ski travel insurance could also help to reduce the cost of a winter holiday on the slopes.
The Ski Club of Great Britain advises all Britons going away on a skiing or snowboarding holiday to take out insurance as numerous people pick up an injury every ski season and medical treatment can be expensive.
