According to the South Lakes Tourism Group, there is much to see and do in the region in 2010.
A number of new attractions are being launched in the area, including the K Village shopping and leisure complex and the Full Steam Ahead: Quakers and Railways exhibition at the Quaker Tapestry in Kendal.
For fans of the books detailing the adventures of Peter Rabbit and his friends, the Beatrix Potter Gallery in Hawkshead will be unveiling a new exhibition entitled Keeping House With Mrs Tittlemouse, which marks the character's 100th anniversary.

"The South Lakes has everything to get the party started, thoroughly entertained, thrilled and delighted, and back on the coach or minibus with a mass of memories to last a lifetime," the South Lakes Tourism Group says.
Those visiting the South Lakes can take advantage of being able to explore the sights and sounds of two national parks - the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
