Holiday prices 'will vary depending on demand'
Travel insurance customers looking to make summer holiday plans this year should be aware that prices will differ according to when people want to travel, an online comparison site has said.
"Prices are going to be more expensive or cheaper on different days, depending on how many people want to go," said Bob Atkinson, travel expert at travelsupermarket.com.
Holiday companies do not capitalise on school holiday periods, he continued, adding prices would fluctuate according to demand.
Mr Atkinson went on to say that traditional holiday destinations such as the Greek Islands, Turkey, Egypt and Florida all continued to be popular with families in 2009 due to the range of activities and things to keep travellers occupied that they provide.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office advised holidaymakers heading to Florida to take out fully comprehensive travel insurance as an air ambulance from the east coast of the United States can cost travellers between £35,000 and £45,000 if emergency treatment is needed.
Cheap travel insurance from Direct Travel Insurance can cover a trip to Europe or long-haul destinations all for a low price.
