Poland's Christmas markets could be ideal for hunting down festive presents while enjoying a winter holiday.
Holidaymakers looking to combine shopping for Christmas presents with a short break may want to travel to Poland.
The country has three main Christmas markets in Krakow, Warsaw and Gdansk, offering the opportunity to look for unique gifts while enjoying the sights and sounds of each city.
According to the Polish National Tourist Office, Krakow's market is the most well-known of the three, featuring handicrafts and delicacies such as bigos, pierogi and oscypek cheese.
The market in Warsaw could be perfect for those looking for presents for fashion-conscious friends, while Gdansk's market has everything from winter sports equipment to make-up, it says.
"Christmas in Poland isn't all about shopping. A festive visit is always a great chance to unwind in one of Europe's winter wonderlands," added Bogan Becla, acting director of the Polish National Tourist Office.
Krakow is one of the cheapest Christmas market destinations in Europe when it comes to accommodation, entry fees for major attractions and
travel insurance, according to a recent Virgin Money study.
