Head out and enjoy the countryside this bank holiday weekend
A new country festival in the Lake District will offer travel insurance customers "a feast for all senses", South Lakeland District Council has said.
The region's newest event will take place at the Westmorland County Showground over bank holiday weekend (May 24th and 25th) and The Hideaway retreat at Windermere is offering a long weekend package to travellers.
Within the price, guests will receive a full English breakfast, homemade cakes and tea and a three course dinner in the restaurant each evening - with a bottle of wine and a glass of champagne included as an added extra.
Country Fest will provide visitors to the region with the option to get involved in typical country activities such as falconry displays, terrier races and cookery demonstrations as well as things such as a mini beer festival and the chance to sample the Lake District's finest regional produce.
Lake Windermere is the largest natural lake in England, stretching for 10.5 miles through the region. Visitors may wish to head out on the lake on a steamboat that ferries between Bowness Bay and Ambleside.
