Backpackers looking for more from a trip to south-east Asia than a lazy beach holiday should head inland for a jungle adventure.
With the country home to some of the region's most diverse rainforests, intrepid travellers keen to get off the beaten track have the opportunity to get back to nature on the back of an Asian elephant, with the region of Khao Lak and its dense jungle and white-water rivers the perfect place to get acquainted with these magnificent animals.

However, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) continues to advise on the importance of
