Caravan owners will soon be able to enjoy a sustainable way to holiday.
Environmentally friendly holidaymakers will soon be able to see the benefits of going green on holiday, as plans have been drawn up for a green energy caravan site in Northumberland.
The new park will be situated next to Burgham Park Golf Club.
It will feature 21 two-bedroom areas of accommodation, and 15 three-bedroom lodges which will give people the chance to take their holiday without fearing what it is doing to the environment.
The park will also be served by a small shop, as well as a number of other amenities which will allow people to have a holiday where they can enjoy all the normal activities they might expect to while still staying green.
Speaking on behalf of the applicant, Clive Milner, agent Gary Swarbrick said: “It is our intention to provide an eco-friendly development of 36 log cabins and nine touring caravan pitches that will sit comfortably within the wider landscape setting through the implementation of a comprehensive landscaping scheme.
"Elm Park will accommodate log cabins built to the very latest standards using only sustainable materials and the biodiversity value of the site will be promoted through the provision of a number of nature walks throughout the site and a dedicated nature area."
When the park is complete, it will help to accommodate the rising number of people who are now buying caravans for touring around the UK and further afield in Europe, as it will feature various sites for caravan owners to pitch up their camps.
Recently, Jon Dale, PR manager at The Camping and Caravanning Club, said that the fact there is an ever-growing uptake in new technology for the caravan sector means that there could be a massive uptake in people choosing to use them to holiday as opposed to jetting off overseas for summer.
