Goa and Sri Lanka could be the perfect locations for a winter sun holiday this year, according to Thomson and First Choice.
Britons looking to escape the cold winter for sunnier climes might want to head to Goa or Sri Lanka.
According to Thomson and First Choice, the two south Asian destinations will offer "exotic winter sun" as well as a host of cultural attractions, wonderful food and gorgeous beaches.
Goa - which lies south of Mumbai on the Indian west coast - is known for its laidback atmosphere and is also a popular destination among backpackers and gap year travellers.
Visitors to the state will find remnants of its Portuguese colonial past in the shape of architecture and other sights.
The north offers a lively nightlife and great restaurants, while less crowded beaches can be found towards the south.
Meanwhile, the island of Sri Lanka boasts green scenery, a mountainous landscape and a variety of unique flora and fauna to examine.
Jungle temples and beautiful beaches are just a few of the sights that can be found in Sri Lanka, Thomson and First Choice say.
The island is also home to more modern attractions such as Ayurveda spas and shopping.
