France is still one of the most popular ski destinations for Britons, an expert has said.
British skiers are still flocking to France for their winter holidays, according to one expert.
Betony Garner, spokesperson for the Ski Club of Great Britain, noted that more than 40 per cent of those going on skiing holidays still visit France.
However, she suggested that an increasing number of skiers are looking to cheaper destinations such as Austria and Italy.
"Italian resorts will see more visitors this year due to the value for money that you get. People are still attracted by higher altitude resorts, like Tignes in France and Arlberg in Austria," Ms Garner remarked.
Those looking to keep the cost of their holiday down - including things such as flight costs and
ski insurance - were recently able to take advantage of an offer from Ryanair to take their skis onboard their flight for free if they booked before October 1st.
Ms Garner said that this was a positive step as it aids holidaymakers looking to ski on a budget.
