Next year's Scottish Snowdrop Festival may be an attractive prospect for holidaymakers with a love of all things floral.
Holidaymakers considering booking
travel insurance for a break in Scotland this winter may want to make sure their getaway coincides with the Scottish Snowdrop Festival.
Running from February 1st to March 15th 2010, the event will see 51 gardens across the country put on a series of displays, events and walks designed to highlight the winter flower.
Visitors will be able to see the bloom in its glory at castles, country estates, walled gardens, urban retreats and other locations.
Some of the locations taking part in the festival include Dunrobin Castle Garden in the Highlands, Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Garden and the Innerpeffray Library and Chapel in Perthshire.
The emergence of snowdrops is usually a sign that winter is coming to an end and spring is on the way.
There are a number of varieties of the flower that bloom at different times of the year and can vary in appearance.
