Passengers with Continental Airlines can now use mobile boarding passes on flights from Heathrow Airport to the US.
The first mobile boarding passes in the UK have been launched by Continental Airlines.
Holidaymakers heading from Heathrow Airport to the US with the carrier can now receive boarding passes on their mobile phones or PDAs and use them to board their flights.
The passes include a barcode and information on the passenger and flight. They are validated at the security checkpoint and boarding gate.
In addition, passengers can take advantage of enhanced flight information from Continental Airlines accessed through their mobile phones.
This includes data on onboard amenities, standby lists and flight statuses.
Martin Hand, vice-president of reservations and ecommerce at Continental Airlines, said: "Customers have told us this is the type of product improvement they want and we will continue to expand the self-service technology to more of our domestic and international destinations."
