Egypt can be a great destination for families on a budget, according to one expert.
Families looking for a holiday destination that offers value for money may want to consider Egypt, it has been suggested.
According to the Egyptian State Tourist Office, the country's location outside of the eurozone means it may offer cheaper holidays than nations in Europe.
A spokesperson for the organisation added that Egypt is particularly child-friendly and easy to access from the UK - and has the added benefit of year-round sunshine, although autumn is a particularly good time to visit the region.
Noting that sporting activities, shopping, eating out and spa treatments can be "very affordable", the Egyptian State Tourist Office said: "Resorts such as Sharm El Sheikh also benefit from having a large selection of all-inclusive hotels, so families can budget for their holiday before they travel."
Earlier this month, a study by Co-operative Travel indicated that half-term breaks to Sharm El Sheikh have soared by 142 per cent this year.
Those worried about holiday costs - including
travel insurance - may also be interested in Santander Cards research indicating that half-term holidays can be up to 249 per cent more expensive than family breaks taken a week later.
