Heading off the beaten track could save skiers money when travelling abroad, according to one expert.
Skiers looking to save cash on their next winter holiday may want to consider visiting resorts in less visited locations.
This is according to Vanessa Fisher of the Ski Club of Great Britain, who notes that while recent InsureandGo research indicated that a typical French Alpine resort stay costs £1,366, ski holidays can be cheaper further down the valley.
Such resorts may include Sainte-Foy, which is situated near Val d'Isere, she says.
"Resorts that are slightly off the beaten track are going to be popular as they are slightly cheaper," Ms Fisher predicted.
In its report, InsureandGo urged those looking for cheap winter sports holidays not to cut corners by skimping on their
ski insurance.
The Ski Club of Great Britain advises skiers to ensure their policies offer the right level of cover and to consider taking out annual multi-trip insurance if they head to the slopes several times a year, as this can save money.
