Travellers should head outside the Eurozone to experience a different culture, an expert has suggested.
Tourists intent on experiencing a different culture while they enjoy their annual holiday could do well to jet off to a destination that is outside their comfort zone, such as Zimbabwe.
This is according to Dan Linstead, editor of Wanderlust magazine, speaking on behalf of Intrepid Travel, who said the country could be ideal for people itching to get a new insight into a country and the practices that take place there.
Safari trips could hold appeal, particularly as much of the South African nation's infrastructure and roads have been improved over the last year, which means the journey is more efficient and comfortable as a result.
Spotting wild rhino should be easy as Mr Linstead claims this is the best region in which to run into these beasts. National parks such as Victoria Falls, Matobo Hills and Hwange might also play host to a variety of flora and fauna that will hold explorers' interest.
Indeed, they could be among the 53 per cent of respondents to an Intrepid Travel survey who would like to ride a camel while holidaying away from home.
"To experience the best of the country [going] round in a group is an ideal way of doing it ... you can explore a good chunk of the country in a relatively short period of time," Mr Linstead continued.
Annual trip insurance policyholders could do well to book their flights soon, as research from the International Air Transport Association has shown demand for layovers to Africa has increased by 16 per cent during September when compared to the same month in 2009.
