Tourists looking to visit the US may want to sample the experiences offered up by Detroit.
People travelling to the US may well schedule a stop at one Michigan city, particularly since an expert has claimed it as "plenty" to offer visitors.
Mike O'Callaghan, executive vice-president and chief operating officer at the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the temperate climate makes way for "lush green areas" as well as rocky outcrops and inland water.
A total of four lakes surround Detroit - Michigan, Superior, Huron and Erie - which could impress tourists who are interested in taking part in sporting activities while they are abroad.
An improved global financial outlook has encouraged some visitors to return to Michigan, Mr O'Callaghan remarked, as many corporate and leisure travellers scaled back their plans during 2009.
His comment on this fact came in response to figures published by STR which revealed Detroit saw a 20.9 per cent increase in hotel occupancy rates during July 2010 - a result that puts the municipality as the top performer in this sector.
People planning flights from the UK should have no difficulty in securing reservations either, as Greenlight claims the number of searches for tickets to Detriot increased by 28 per cent during June, when compared with the previous month.
These travellers may include sport, music and culture fans as Mr O'Callaghan concluded that there are plenty of opportunities for these pursuits to keep them entertained.
Buying a
travel insurance policy should be on the to do list of anyone planning a holiday abroad, particularly if they expect to participate in golf, skiing or any other unusual activity.
