Kenya's shoreline has some interesting spots for divers to explore.
Travel insurance policyholders keen to stay active during their trips abroad might like to participate in water sports.
Angie Sloan, Kenya Tourist Board UK director, suggests heading just south of Mombasa, Kenya, to get the best experience.
She says individuals will find spots along the coast between Tiwi and Shimoni that should provide plenty of entertainment, as well as at the Kisite-Mpunguti marine reserve, which spans 39 sq km of ocean.
This would be particularly suitable for snorkellers and those who enjoy diving down to see all types of sealife.
A coral reef dive can be organised that has tidal currents at the Nyali Reef and this may well be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for visitors.
"Other water sports include deep-sea fishing, which is popular north of Mombasa in Malindi.
"The fish-rich waters are home to blue marlin, tuna, snapper, wahoo, 1,000-pound sharks and numerous other species of game fish," Ms Sloan reveals.
Kisite Point would be a good destination for those who want to encounter bottlenose dolphins and hawksbill turtles, the expert continues, while sessions allowing people to swim with friendly whale sharks run from September to November.
Ms Sloan previously revealed Kenya is also a good holiday location for golfers, as sites such as the Leisure Lodge Beach and Golf Resort in Diani Beach are of championship standard and could be a major draw for tourists.
The "lush rainforest" that surrounds the area south of Mombasa is also ideal for spotting wildlife, with baboons, colobus monkeys and leopards all known to be present.
