Enjoy the British summer with a trip to the Teignmouth Folk Festival
Travel insurance customers looking for a holiday destination a little closer to home may wish to head to Teignmouth this June for a festival of traditional sea songs and stories, the tourist board has said.
Running from June 19th to 21st, the 11th annual Teignmouth Folk Festival will see a range of events taking place across the south Devon town.
Performances will take place on outdoor arenas such as a cliff top location with a 180-degree panoramic view of the coastline at Jason's Garden and the outdoor stage at the Carlton Theatre on the sea front.
The lineup includes a three-piece folk band that play drinking songs and Accapella folk tunes as well as the Exmouth Shanty Men and Tom Lewis - a veteran of the seas who tells stories and sings.
Situated on the Devon coast between Exeter and Torquay, Teignmouth has been a popular tourist destination dating back to Victorian times.
A recent report from the AA suggested the increase in the number of people booking last-minute breaks could lead to a rise in people holidaying without a travel insurance policy.
Even if you’re travelling within the UK, holiday insurance from Direct Travel Insurance is still a sensible purchase as the expense of dealing with issues on a holiday can be costly in any country.
