Tuscany could be the ideal destination for a food-themed holiday.
Holidaymakers looking for a food-themed getaway may want to head to Tuscany.
The Italian region will play host to a number of food festivals that
summer that could form the basis of a culinary break, according to Essential Italy.
Among these is The Valley of the Giant White Festival in Bettolle, Siena, which runs from May 28th to 29th and celebrates the Chianina cow - which produces what is claimed to be the best steak in the world.
Elsewhere, the Snail Festival in Camucio begins on May 29th and finishes on June 6th, offering a host of unusual snail-based menus in between, as well as pizza and local produce.
The event also includes walking and cycling tours, rally car and motorbike shows, and street parades.
Finally, the Frog Festival in Brolio at the end of July offers another delicacy in various forms, with 10,000 frog's legs being imported for the event.

holiday insurance for a trip to Tuscany can also take advantage of numerous wine trails across the region and visit the famous wine cellars of Montecarlo, Strada del Chianti Rufina, Pomino and Strada Medicea in Carmignano.
