England is ideal for holidays whatever the weather, an expert has said.
England is a fine option for holidays all year round, not just in the
summer months, an expert has said.
Following the recent flight chaos caused by the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud - which caused thousands of people to either have their journeys delayed or cancelled across the continent - it is expected that many people are now opting to remain in Britain for their
summer holiday this year as opposed to risking having their break spoilt by any repeat situation.
Air strikes have also been common in the last few months, which have further put holidaymakers off travelling abroad.
And with temperatures soaring to figures above 30 degrees over the last few days as the country enjoys a prolonged spell of hot conditions, Visit England's chief executive officer, James Berresford, has commented that Brits have been out in force to enjoy the outstanding weather, which is currently warmer than many popular foreign destinations.
"There's nothing better than a sunny day in England and this weekend saw Brits heading out to make the most of the warm weather," he said.
"Seaside resorts up and down the country benefit from the sunshine and we're delighted that the predictions for an ice-cream
summer seem to be coming true."
Research released by Sheffield Hallam University on June 28th revealed that the seaside tourism industry in England and Wales is booming, with around 210,000 jobs being filled by the sector currently.
However, despite admitting that England is often at its most attractive when the weather is good, Mr Berresford maintained that the range of world-class attractions across the country means that people can have just as good a time indoors as out.
Anyone thinking of staying in England for their holiday this
summer should consider taking out
travel insurance before leaving home.
Even if you're travelling within the UK,
holiday insurance from Direct
Travel Insurance is still a sensible purchase as the expense of dealing with issues on a holiday can be costly in any country.
