People travelling in London this evening could face commuter misery as emergency engineering work is being carried out on some of the city's routes.
National Rail reports London Midland and Virgin trains have been affected by the problem that is causing disruption on routes through London Euston, Watford Junction, Bletchley, Milton Keynes Central, Tring, Wolverton, Northampton, Rugby and Birmingham New Street, as well as services destined for Nuneaton.
Some passengers face delays of approximately 30 minutes and the organisation does not suggest a time at which the problems will be resolved.
Anyone looking to commute on any of these services could do well to check the latest updates online, as well as contacting train operators directly.
However, restrictions are also in place on National Express East Anglia lines, as overhead wire problems are being experienced at Harlow Town.
A replacement bus service has been put in place between Broxbourne and Bishops Stortford, while the issue could see journeys extended by up to one hour.
Travel insurance policyholders hoping to use the train to reach Stansted Airport are likely to be affected by this problem as services are not currently running to the hub. Passengers should look in to making alternative arrangements for their trip but fares will be valid on First Capital Connect services on reasonable routes, according to National Rail.
