Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia are becoming more popular among holidaymakers, according to Cheapflights.
East Asian destinations are proving increasingly popular among British holidaymakers, according to one travel site.
Cheapflights says it has seen large rises in the number of searches conducted for flights to Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia.
Indonesia searches are up 116 per cent compared with last year, while Vietnam is 94 per cent higher and Malaysia-related queries haven increased by 79 per cent.
Thailand, which has traditionally been one of the most popular Asian holiday destinations, is up by 39 per cent.
"While Thailand has long been a British favourite, neighbouring east Asian countries have experienced a dramatic rise in search recently and we are starting to see a popularity shift into places like Vietnam," commented Nadine Hallak, travel expert for Cheapflights UK.
She explained that Vietnam could be a cheaper option for those looking to visit Asia than Thailand.
Holidaymakers heading to Asia may want to take out
travel insurance in case issues such as lost luggage occur.
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office recommends taking out annual or
multi-trip insurance for those who take several holidays a year.
