Plenty of sunshine and a mid-haul flight could make Dubai a popular destination among British tourists.
A mid-haul flight and guaranteed sunshine are two reasons why British tourists might embark on a holiday to Dubai this winter.
Davis Forder, marketing manager at Flight Centre, explained that the destination is relatively convenient thanks to six-to-eight-hour layovers that are usually in the evening or overnight.
"People tend to prefer a night flight as it gives them an additional day of relaxation and is especially relevant to those taking shorter trips," he continued.
Many passengers may have used Dubai as a stopover on a longer trip to other parts of the world, but the city has plenty of tourist attractions that make it a destination in itself.
"Lavish shopping complexes" have been constructed, which could appeal to single trip insurance policyholders looking to stock up in time for Christmas and five-star hotels are par for the course in the Middle Eastern province.
Investment in these amenities is continuous, according to Mr Forder and developers strive "to provide everything visitors could wish for".
A monorail is in the pipeline, which is designed to ease traffic congestion in Dubai and entertainment franchises are expected to appear in the region. For instance, the expert touts Cirque du Soleil as one of the names to look out for when enjoying a holiday in the area.
Anyone considering a flight to take advantage of the sights could do well to book in advance as figures from Dubai Airport have shown more than one million people passed through the hub during October this year, which could become the usual number expected each month in the future.
