There is an array of eateries to check out in Bangkok.
Those considering a trip to south-east Asia may want to take heed of advice from a selection of Reuters correspondents, who have recommended Bangkok for its array of attractions, starting with the food it has on offer.
One restaurant the news provider suggested visiting the Banyan Tree Hotel's Vertigo Grill and Moon Bar that has an open-air rooftop bar on the 61st floor.
Reuters stated: "Get there early to secure a table at the edge. Its chic lounge is popular with the cocktail crowd, drawing the rich and the beautiful."
But those with backpacker insurance may like to find somewhere slightly less wallet-busting, such as an abundance of eateries, bars and street vendors on Khao San Road, "a former rice market packed with budget hotels, young travellers and market stalls".
Those into shopping may like to check out the Chatuchak weekend market, which contains more than 5,000 stalls and stretches out over 27 acres with a variety of items on sale, ranging from jewellery and wood carvings to clothes and reproduction collectibles.
But one attraction that many people will not be able to purchase is the gold-plated reclining Buddha measuring 46 meters in length, who is housed in the Wat Pho Temple.
This is described by the publication as the "the largest and perhaps most impressive temple in Bangkok" and while people are in the vicinity it may be worth going for a massage as Wat Pho is called the "main training centre for masseuses" in the capital city.
