Utah may seem like a US state off the beaten track but it is full of amazing sights.
Budding travellers might be wondering where else in the US is worth a look, aside from classic destinations such as Florida, New York and Chicago.
With such a vast area to choose from, one company's comments might help. Discover Moab has recommended a trip to Moab in Utah which - although it might sound like the middle of nowhere - is actually full of "natural beauty" and stunning sights.
It is within a day's drive of major cities including Las Vegas, Denver, Salt Lake City and Albuquerque, so it could make a fantastic mini-adventure after or before a trip to one of these locations.
Discover Moab highlighted the numerous activities on offer in the area, ranging from the serene to the extreme.
Hiking, golfing, horseback riding and canoeing will all provide the opportunity to see the desert landscape, while climbing, four-wheeling, river rafting and skydiving can give the strong-willed a unique view of the region.
"Moab's unique combination of beautiful red rock scenery, cool waters of the Colorado River and lush green of the LaSal Mountains - where you can be at over 10,000 ft in less than an hour - has made it one of the most sought-after destinations in the south-west," the organisation added.
