There are plenty of hidden gems in the South American region to keep travellers entertained, according to one expert.
An expert has suggested booking a holiday to Brazil with a view to exploring the nation's hidden sights and attractions.
Tom Hall, travel editor of Lonely Planet, explained that despite its increasing popularity, the country still boasts "undiscovered places" that might appeal to holidaymakers on the hunt for adventure.
North-eastern regions of Fortalez and Natal could be ideal for their newly-developed status and accommodation is plentiful around Fernando de Noronha, according to the expert.
These areas all "offer something that is really worth making the journey", particularly if the travellers hunting down unspoilt beaches for a spot of swimming or sunbathing.
Mr Hall went on to note that the area's national park "is a superb place to go for an away-from-it-all beach holiday".
Short expeditions can be arranged around Rio - and three or four days should be enough to sample its "unmissable" attributes, while a trip to the Iguassu Falls might also be worthwhile.
What's more, holiday insurance customers inspired by Mr Hall's recommendations could do well to book flights early, as statistics released by Cheapflights.co.uk have shown that searches for Brazil have increased by approximately 200 per cent in the last six months when compared with the same period last year.
They may also wish to make hotel reservations at the same time as making last-minute travel arrangements, as demand for accommodation has risen throughout the last couple of years and the industry in Brazil has remained relatively stable despite the global economic downturn elsewhere.
