With many holidaying at home, Devon offers some fine winter sights.
With the number of people looking to holiday at home over the last of the festive period likely to see an increase this year, people who are looking to buy travel insurance have been urged to visit Devon to find some of the most attractive destinations in the UK.
It was reported recently by VisitEngland that in economic downturns, such as the UK is in at the moment, more people choose to holiday in their own country rather than heading off to sunnier climates across Europe and the US.
The company reported that the number of people holidaying in the UK in the first six months of this year was four per cent higher than at the same time last year, a trend expected to continue throughout the second part of the year.
With this is mind, those looking for destinations in England could turn their eye towards the county of Devon.
According to Ben Parkinson, online marketing executive at VisitDevon.co.uk, there are many destinations in the county which can provide fun for all the family, even if the weather should happen to take a turn for the worse.
"For all-round family fun, with plenty of things to do at each, there are many popular attractions such as Crealy AdventurePark, Woodlands Family Theme Park, Paignton Zoo, BIG Sheep or Milky Way Adventure Park," he added.
Devon also offers adventure parks and climbing centres, as well as off-road cycling centres, which can offer family activities if the weather remains mild.
Mr Parkinson also said that there are various heritage centres throughout the county which offer families the chance to learn more about the culture and the history of the area itself.
