Turkey is bursting with historical interest, which could keep travellers with a love of culture entertained.
Providing a rich cultural experience and good value for money, Turkey might be the ideal destination for some travellers this year.
Nadine Hallak, travel expert at Cheapflights Media, said: "From stunning historical sites to white sand beach resorts, vibrant markets and lively bars, there is plenty on offer for holidaymakers."
Istanbul is home to the remains of the Ottoman Empire and Troy is a biblical city that could be worth visiting and people with an interest in World War I could explore Marmara where battle sites dot the coast.

Ms Hallak explains that the climate can be hot during the summer - often lasting up to eight months - but winter sports enthusiasts could plan their trip later in the year when the skiing season kicks off in the country's mountain ranges.
Anyone considering an active, or relaxing, trip abroad should invest in a sufficient travel insurance policy to cover them for any eventuality.
And the expert's comments have been backed up by voters in the Conde Nast Traveller Annual Readers' Travel Awards, which saw Turkey awarded the favourite destination accolade.
Value for money, standard of accommodation and overall satisfaction scored well and the nation achieved top marks in each of its criteria.
