Those looking for a cheap way to enjoy England this summer could think about going to the Cotswolds.
Families hoping to cut back as they think about having a holiday this year could get cheap travel insurance and take a staycation, it has been said.
Yolanda Copes-Stepney, destination PR officer for VisitEngland, explained that the Cotswolds is one of the best places in the UK to take a day trip, thanks to its famous tea shops, museums and places to walk.
The latter could especially appeal to those trying to save money this summer as it does not cost anything to do, the expert said, while people can always take their bikes with them for a more adventurous day out in the woods.
Ms Copes-Stepney added that VisitEngland has launched the new EnjoyEngland App, which can be used by those with smartphones to find out things to do in places such as the Cotswolds.
"If you were down there - the good thing about the app is if you did lose reception, you can actually still use the app offline and still have access to all of the different ideas and find things to do in the area," she said.
It is free to download for those with iPhones, BlackBerrys or any other smartphone and could be an essential tool for those looking to save money during a trip to the region in the coming months.
Sandie Dawe, chief executive of Visit Britain, recently said that the UK has everything a tourist could ask for without having to set foot in an airport, as well as a diverse range of towns and cities to explore.
