Korea has a lot to offer British tourists, who will find the country is safe and friendly, it is claimed.
Korea may not be the first country that springs to mind as a holiday destination for travel insurance policyholders, but it is well worth a visit.
That is according to Ramy Salameh, PR manager at the Korea Tourism Organisation, who suggests the country is "exciting and dynamic", as well as being "safe and easy to get around",
He continues: "There is currently a free bus service operating between Seoul and Busan - Korea's second biggest city - which are at opposite ends of the country making exploration of the country very easy."
A "Korail" pass can be purchased from International Rail that allows users to take to the country's trains on an unlimited basis, depending on the type of ticket that is bought.
Backpackers should also rest assured that solo-travellers should find the nation a safe one, with plenty of resources to help those holidaying alone.
A free helpline number - 1330 - can be used to put the individual through to a tourist office representative who speaks English, Mr Salameh explains.
Those keen to soak up some of Korea's culture during their stay should tune in to the Korean wave and K-Pop, which is a "massively popular genre" among the nation's youth.
"Young people are finding that Korea is one of the most creative and trendiest destinations in Asia," Mr Salameh notes.
Data from Korea Tourism Organisation suggests there was an 11 per cent rise in UK visitor arrivals between January and May 2011, with many indications suggesting there will have been 100,000 British holidaymakers in the country by the end of the year.
