Germany has numerous cities to explore on short trips.
Travel insurance policyholders would be wise to consider Germany when deciding on a location for a city break.
According to Coralie Modschiedler, commissioning editor at Columbus Travel Media, there are many area that are ideal for this type of stay.
Munich and Berlin tend to be the most popular, with the latter having a "great nightlife" that tends to draw huge crowds.
The expert notes: "It's a massive city and you've got something for everyone."
While many people have been travelling to Berlin for a number of years, Ms Modschiedler suggests it is only just "finding its feet" as a must-see spot.
Twenty years have passed since the fall of the Berlin wall and since this time there have been many different aspects to emerge, with the city have old and new districts to attract tourists.
Stuttgart and Hanover could also be considered, although the representative says they do not tend to be covered in the press as much as rivals.
Mr Modschiedler claims British holidaymakers tend to turn straight to Spain or France for a city trip, but Germany is just as attractive and many low-cost airlines fly to locations around the country.
Earlier this year, UK and Ireland director at the German National Tourist Office Klaus Lohmann suggested there is a "new Germany" that has both countryside and urban life just waiting to be explored.
Hamburg was named by the expert as a "rising star", having been underestimated in the past, despite its eco credentials and interesting vibe.
