British tourists are increasingly finding the Far East an interesting holiday destination.
More British tourists are discovering the Far East as a holiday destination - and China in particular is proving popular.
Increasing numbers of flights, cheaper hotel rooms and the draw of a culture different to their own are just some of the reasons why people plan a trip to China, according to Andrea Loddo, product and contracts manager at Hayes and Jarvis.
She said: "The appeal of China has always been linked to a fascination with the country's heritage and history, combined with the opportunity to get to know more about a culture so remote from our own."
Xian, Shanghai and Beijing are usually top of the itinerary and popular sights like the Forbidden City, the Terracotta Warriors and the Great Wall are worth seeing.
Other cultural highlights include the towns of Yunnan, Suzhou and Hangzhou - many travellers book tours to visit all these places without having to navigate the public transport system.
Single trip insurance policyholders who wish to experience the diverse landscape of the region could enjoy the limestone cliffs around the Lijiang River "and a cruise down the Yangtze is a big draw", Ms Loddo continued.
Indeed, China has grown in popularity and become "a much more mainstream experience" since the Beijing Olympic Games, the expert pointed out.
A rising number of flights to China has also been reported and Hong Kong International Airport stated aircraft movement increased 14.7 per cent in August, when compared to the same month last year.
And the nation could provide great value for money as the Post Office recently released figures which show the Chinese yuan is fourth on the organisation's Fastest Growing Currencies list.
