Britons are increasingly looking to take luxury holidays close to home, according to Conde Nast Traveller.
Holidaymakers are becoming more interested in taking luxury breaks in the UK, it has been suggested.
Research by Conde Nast Traveller indicates that 80 per cent of luxury travellers have been on a short UK break in the last year.
The survey also found that 51 per cent of luxury holidaymakers will take a British break in the next few years.
Commenting on the study, Michelle Hancock of Pride of Britain Hotels said: "Leisure short breaks are buoyant ... We are seeing visitors who are genuinely interested in having a luxurious break in the UK."
However, even luxury holidaymakers may not want to discount the importance of taking out
travel insurance for peace of mind while away.
The findings come after the conclusion of Conde Nast Traveller's Luxury Travel Fair event, which took place in London earlier this month.
A recent study by VisitEngland found that 72 per cent of holidaymakers are likely to book a getaway in England next year.
Even if you're travelling within the UK,
holiday insurance from
Direct Travel Insurance is still a sensible purchase as the expense of dealing with issues on a holiday can be costly in any country.
