Holidaymakers are looking for more from their long-haul getaways, according to one expert.
Britons are increasingly looking to get more from holidays to long-haul destinations.
This is according to Frances Tuke of ABTA - The Travel Association, who explains that while some people are seeking sun and relaxation, others are searching for more adventurous trips.
"We also want to experience authentic holiday experiences such as going to pick coffee or cocoa in the Costa Rica mountains," she remarks.
The comments come after a report from Kuoni suggested that the most popular long-haul destinations for 2010 will include the Maldives, Thailand, the US, Sri Lanka and Egypt.
It broke this down further by revealing that the US and the Maldives are likely to be most attractive to families, while single travellers will flock to Thailand as well as to the Maldives.
Travel insurance may be a good idea for long-haul holidays, both to cover the cost of travel delays and any potential medical expenses.
