Regular cultural breaks are all the rage among holidaymakers, according to one expert.
Travellers are increasingly getting into the habit of going on more fulfilling holidays than traditional breaks, an expert has suggested.
According to Sharron Livingston, editor at thetravelmagazine.net, Britons now want to feel as if they have done something worthwhile when overseas.
She also noted that the fact it is now possible to head abroad relatively cheaply has led to more holidaymakers travelling quite regularly.
These Britons may benefit from taking out
annual travel insurance rather than spending more on individual policies for each break.
"Culture, adventure, activity and learning holidays offer time out with a feeling of having done something worthwhile - plus these experiences are great for after dinner conversation," Ms Livingston commented.
Recent research by CV Travel indicated that there has been a rise in the number of cultural holidays being taken by Britons each year, with countries such as Turkey, Egypt and Morocco proving particularly popular among these travellers.
