The recession is prompting millions of people to flock overseas to escape it, according to new research.
A new survey has suggested that millions of Britons are flocking abroad to escape the recession.
The study by InsureandGo found that 3.3 million people have been overseas or intend to do so just to avoid the doom and gloom associated with the economic downturn.
Almost one-third of graduates said they were going abroad to take a year off from the difficulties relating to looking for a job in the current employment market.
Perry Wilson, founder of InsureandGo, advised those travelling overseas to flee the recession to consider
holiday insurance to make sure their plans do not backfire.
"Travellers need to ensure they take reasonable precautions, such as reading about their destinations in advance and making sure they have adequate travel insurance," he stated.
Britons made 14.6 million visits to overseas countries between June and August, according to recent research by the Office for National Statistics.
Travellers spent £7.5 billion on these holidays during the period, its figures revealed.
