The Hungarian National Tourist Office claimed that the central European country is unbeatable as a weekend break destination thanks to its value for money and great accessibility from the UK.
STR Global revealed earlier this month that average room rates in Eastern and southern Europe remained under pressure because of economic difficulties in these countries.
Karin Jones, consultant for the Hungarian National Tourist Office, claimed that the country is "world-renowned for the standard of living it offers to both locals and visitors alike".
She said that luxury hotels "are easily accessible to the average traveller with room rates starting from well under £100 per night".
Taking out cheap
travel insurance could also help to the cut the cost of a trip to Hungary.
Last week, low-cost airline Wizz Air disclosed that it would launch new routes and increase frequencies to the Hungarian capital, Budapest, to meet growing demand for travel to the city.
