A new survey has revealed Brits enjoy taking several short breaks abroad each year.
Brits should make sure they have a multi-trip
travel insurance policy in place as they have become "a nation of spontaneous mini-breakers" a new travel report has revealed.
According to a survey by Visa Europe, many UK travellers prefer taking an overseas holiday and 83 per cent stated that they planned to take between one and five different short breaks in 2009.
"Our research shows that increasingly we are holidaying at the last minute, jetting off for spontaneous short breaks," said Euan Ballantyne from the organisation.
The study also revealed that 20 per cent of travel plans were booked just one to two weeks in advance, so purchasing an annual or multi-trip holiday insurance policy for the year could give peace of mind.
Earlier in the year, InsureandGo revealed that the total cost of incidents abroad to travellers without
holiday insurance in 2008 came to £90 million.
The most common incidents were lost and stolen baggage and possessions, cancelled and delayed flights and medical expenses.
