Brits are "falling back in love with the UK"
Travel insurance customers are "falling back in love with the UK" and are heading out for a summer of camping, The Caravan Club has reported.
Nikki Nichol, head of PR at The Caravan Club, said she thought people were realising that they can get better value for their travel money by staying at home rather than heading to places such as North America or the eurozone.
"You can have home from home comforts [on a caravan holiday]," she explained.
"They provide a perfect way of having a holiday and travelling around to your own timetable," she continued.
Ms Nichol went on to say that the weather has been forecast to be "fantastic" for the summer in the UK and people will be able to explore and discover what is available to them in their own garden.
According to a report published in February by the National Caravan Council, 2009 will see people in the UK take two million extra caravan holidays - accounting for 14 million trips this year.
Holidays in the UK still require a travel insurance policy to cover events such as cancellation or loss of possessions.
Even if you’re travelling within the UK, holiday insurance from Direct Travel Insurance is still a sensible purchase as the expense of dealing with issues on a holiday can be costly in any country.
