Brits taking a bank holiday staycation have plenty of choice in terms of locations, it has been suggested.
Holidaymakers with a UK
travel insurance policy have many options in terms of staycation destinations, a holiday company has said.
According to a spokesperson for UKinbound, Kent was one option for UK travellers that has been popular this year.
"[People] combine the city of Canterbury and visiting Leeds Castle," she explained.
There are places for people to go camping and coastal regions will also see lots of visitors, she added.
For a short break as a couple or with friends, theatre visits in the capital are one idea.
"In Northumberland there are a lot of castles that are very popular and some lovely coastal walks," continued the travel representative, adding that undiscovered destinations such as the east of England are worth a trip and they will also be quieter.
VisitEngland noted that 80 per cent of people planning a getaway over the August bank holiday will be staying within the UK - almost 11.9 million people.
Even if you’re travelling within the UK, holiday insurance from Direct Travel Insurance is still a sensible purchase as the expense of dealing with issues on a holiday can be costly in any country.
