Bath has something for everyone, an expert has said.
The Roman city of Bath offers something for everyone looking for a break in the UK this
summer, an expert has said.
As an official UNESCO world heritage site, the Somerset city is revered for its stunning architecture and cultural offerings around the globe and the fact that it is in Britain means that people here have a genuinely world-renowned attraction on their doorstep.
Figures released by Hotels.com earlier this week (June 15th) show that the recent turmoil caused to flights across Europe has put people off travelling abroad this
summer in favour of a staycation in Britain as searches for locations such as Bath have increased by nearly three-quarters - 73 per cent - in recent months.
And with a full calendar of seasonal events, Bath Tourism Plus public relations and communications executive Lucy Weaver believes that the former Roman stronghold represents an ideal retreat for holidaymakers looking for an eventful yet relaxing weekend away.
"There is always something taking place in Bath and our events calendar is full all year round. This
summer visitors should look out for the Food and Drink festival which will take place in Royal Victoria Park July 3rd and 4th," she said.
Meanwhile, the expert added that the city's iconic Roman baths will be lit by torchlight every evening throughout the
summer, offering a "very unique sight" of one of the world's most well-known tourist attractions.
Anyone thinking of visiting Bath this
summer should consider taking out
travel insurance before they leave home.
Even if you're travelling within the UK,
holiday insurance from Direct
Travel Insurance is still a sensible purchase as the expense of dealing with issues on a holiday can be costly in any country.
