Meals and accommodation are cheap in the country, according to an expert.
People looking for a holiday destination that offers great value for money could do well to take one expert's advice and go to Bangladesh.
Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, has suggested the country thanks to its affordable accommodation and food costs - the former can be booked for approximately £10 per night and meals from just £1, which could prove that "Bangladesh might just be the cheapest place on earth to travel".
But booking early may be a good idea, as figures from STR Global have shown occupancy levels across the Asia/Pacific region have increased by 7.4 per cent during September this year.
Dubbed "underrated" by Mr Hall, the Asian nation could prove popular among adventurers who are keen on getting to know a destination that is a little off the regular tourist track. "It offers a sense of adventure that you don't get everywhere", he went on to say.
Wildlife lovers could do well to schedule an excursion - which can be arranged for approximately £120 - to the Sundarbans National Park, where they might catch a glimpse of a tiger or two.
However, anyone planning to participate in sports such as surfing, canoeing or paddle boating could do well to check their backpacker insurance policy is up to date and covers any eventuality while enjoying such activities.
And if they needed any further confirmation that Bangladesh is the ideal spot for culture vultures, thrill-seekers and adventurers the country has been voted the best value destination for 2011 in the recent Lonely Planet's Best in Travel report.
