The Big Apple is undoubtedly one of the world's leading tourist hotspots as people from all over the world travel to the buzzing metropolis throughout the whole year to see renowned sights such as the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.
Meanwhile, a lot of individuals like to visit the city over Christmas as the area comes alive around this time of year and is a truly magical place to spend the festive period.
However, according to a spokeswoman from NYCTrip.com - an independent travel planning site for both agencies and holidaymakers - right now is possibly the best time to spend a week or two in the city that never sleeps.
The expert explained that the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and New Year's Eve in Times Square represent the most popular events taking place in New York in the coming weeks and months.
In 2011, Thanksgiving Day is on November 24th and the NYCTrip.com official noted that Macy's - the world famous department store - has sponsored a "gigantic" procession to mark the occasion for the last 75 years.
"The parade begins at 09:00 local time and proceeds from the Upper West Side through Midtown, ending at the flagship store at Herald Square. Giant balloons, floats, marching bands and celebrities highlight the festivities," she noted.
In addition, the specialist stated that New Year's Eve in Times Square represents an "internationally famous event" that sees "over one million partiers gather to celebrate at midnight".
