When on holiday, take days out in other locations.
For those who are now taking more holidays in the UK, caravans are increasingly becoming a very popular choice, with the opportunity that they give to stay on the move and always have the freedom to move to new locations a key attraction.
Another popular reason for caravans being so in vogue these days, is that people can live in them while enjoying day trips in other locations, which one expert says is becoming increasingly popular with home insurance policyholders across the country.
Anthony Kimani, geocaching expert from Garmin, said that the current economic climate was the main reason people want to stay at home, as opposed to seeking out an expensive break on the continent, with convenience also being a factor.
"There are a lot of staycations, people actually want to go to spend days out," he added.
This was a sentiment which was echoed by William Wake, outdoor programme coordinator with the National Trust, who said that a greater number of people can now get into the great outdoors by taking days out, with geocaching becoming an ever more popular way for people to enjoy the UK.
Geocaching is an activity whereby people use a GPS system in order to locate predetermined locations, where they can find prizes. With regards to holidays however, it can help them to find places which it may not have been possible for them to locate on their own, perhaps because they are less popular, or because they are in less accessible areas.
"We're being able to connect with a new audience, with people who are into their technology and that gives them a great opportunity to explore some of our properties and perhaps go off to the different places which they might not have found before, " said Mr Wake.
People can combine camping, which was reported this week as becoming more popular by the Caravanning Channel, with geocaching to help them discover more of the UK.
