Newlyweds searching for a tropical destination without the risk of a wet season may consider booking their honeymoon in Aruba.
Newlyweds who dream of a Caribbean honeymoon may want to consider Aruba after one expert described its climate as temperate.
Joanna Walding, of the Aruba Tourism Authority, explained that the island's proximity to South America means it is less prone to a wet season, which occasionally causes hurricanes in places such as Barbados and Antigua.
She added that planning such an excursion does not need to be difficult either, as many considerations - like a wedding gift registry - can be managed from the UK.
"Your guests can buy you experiences to have in Aruba, such as a sunset cruise, a massage, a lobster dinner or pay towards activities or excursions," Ms Walding explained.
This can be set up through a dedicated website, so instead of having a list at a British high street store, it can be based in the destination and collected after the big day.
Indeed, the expert remarked that the weather and accessibility of Aruba make it stand out against other nations in the region.
The destination is already proving popular among British tourists as figures from the Aruba Tourism Authority revealed that 5,921 people travelled from the UK in the first half of 2010 - placing Aruba as one of the top ten Caribbean destinations for visitors from this country.
And it is not just honeymoons that are popular abroad, more people are jetting off to get married overseas and Sandals recently discovered that 50 per cent of those asked would do so on purpose, to avoid unwanted guests at their nuptials.
When booking a trip, for whatever reason, it is important to ensure a sufficient
travel insurance policy is in place.
