Alsace "has got everything really"
France's smallest region has "everything" tourists could want - including lots of water - Alsace UK has said.
"It's a great place for food and wine," said Toby Oliver, representative of the region in the UK, who advised people interested in travelling there not to be counting the calories.
There are more Michelin-starred eateries in Alsace than anywhere else in France outside of Paris, he added.
Mr Oliver went on to say that the region was quite unique because of its mixed German and French heritage - the area has changed hands between the two countries 17 times in the last 2,000 years.
Travellers from the UK will find it an easy destination to get to he explained, with several flights a day to the region. Strasbourg can also be reached in five hours by the Eurostar.
According to the Alsace Chamber of Commerce, the area's wines are world-famous for their distinctive bottles, quality and individuality.
