All-inclusive 'perfect for budget conscious'
Great deals can still be found on summer holidays and all-inclusive packages can help to keep costs down, a travel agent has advised.
"An all-inclusive holiday is ideal if you want to stick to a tight budget, as you will pay for meals, drinks and some activities in advance," said a spokesperson for Thomas Cook UK and Ireland.
Cutting the number of days away down to ten or 11 nights rather than two weeks can also help to make travel more affordable, they added.
Research by the company found Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco and Turkey to be perfect destinations for those on a budget as they can offer a more promising exchange rate.
According to On the Beach, some 32 per cent of people stated they would continue to take their summer holiday in 2009 and 57 per cent said they would travel to a non-eurozone country.
Thomas Cook advised holidaymakers to do their research before jetting off to get an idea of what things might cost once in resort.
